The EditMe blog announces plans to promote its use as a Content Management System.
Matt, the EditMe founder, had plenty of experience at using several types of CMS for website development. He says they have become bloated and complicated because of their needs to satisfy the diverse needs of every user. The flexibility of wikis and the fact that as many or as few people as appropriate can contribute to their development often makes wikis a better choice
To promote this initiative EditMe are starting an affiliate programme for developers and freelancers who use EditMe when setting up websites for their clients. As my Editme review describes EditMe is a fully featured wiki system and my bet is that this will turn out to be a very successful promotion.
From a wider perspective, I believe this heralds another giant step forward for wikis. Already we have seen wiki and blog functionality combined in blikis. Here is another step with the introduction of CMS functionality.
Good luck with your promotion, Matt.
